The poverty is one of the major, present global problems. It may be accompanied by social exclusion. EU not only points out the need for a diagnosis of both of these issues, but also tries to resolve them, and even alleviate. Unfortunately, modern society not only worry about “old” problems, but also concerns about new challenges ahead. One of the most severe social issues affecting young people are: unemployment and exclusion. Is the European Union able to diagnose and quickly enough respond to these new challenges? The main subject of this paper is reflection on these issues in the context of the international statistics.
