The prospects of Swedish model in the age
of postindustrial economy

ABSTRACT
The main thesis of the following article is that Swedish model of welfare state can cope
with the current challenges and future challenges, thanks to some key features inherent
in that model. Those characteristics such as presence of institutions that build social and
human capital or the social security institutions that promotes capacity to risk-taking and innovations are enumerated and presented in relation to some social and economic
indicators that prove the Swedish model is not over yet and it does quite well in the
postindustrial context.
